Bringing together the Mid-Atlantic’s finest authors with the region’s premier wine producers!

Two things I absolutely love: curling up with a good book, and seeking out new and exciting wineries in search of that Next Great Bottle. Some of my fondest memories are of hours spent visiting beautiful vineyards throughout the US, and nothing brings me that feeling of calm, almost zen-like relaxation, than time spent with friends enjoying the wine ‘safari’ experience.

Books & Vines gives me a chance to combine those two great loves. Don’t get me wrong: I LOVE doing book signings at chain and independent book stores, at book fairs and festivals, and at smaller, intimate events. I do dozens of events every year, and I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity. But, the idea of doing a book event at a winery, along with a few other great indie authors from around the region? That’s really the best of both worlds!

HOW THIS WORKS

It’s simple:

1. We work together to pick a date for the event. Typically we schedule the events on a Saturday, but we’re flexible. If Sunday works better for your business, that’s fine with us.

2. We decide on the hours for the event. We most often see 12-4, but again, we’re flexible. We request access to your site 1 hour prior to the start of the event to allow time for setup.

3. You decide how many authors you’d like to have at the event based on your setup, expected customer volume, etc. Most venues request that we have 4-7 authors at the event, but we can adjust as necessary. Our authors’ books run the gamut of genres, including murder/spy thrillers, romance/romantasy, horror, science fiction, Young Adult, cozy mysteries, and even children’s books. Something for everyone! (Note: absolutely NO books produced by AI)

4. Our authors are prepared to bring their own tables and chairs, but if you prefer to provide your own, that’s fine with us. Note that you MAY want to provide chairs simply because most of ours are more suited to outdoor events and activities.

5. Our authors handle all book and peripheral sales, and we’re prepared to accept credit cards or cash. If possible, we request Guest Access to our Wi-Fi since most of us use Square or similar technology to conduct sales.

6. We will create custom flyers and online communications for the event and will share widely across our respective social media. You can count on marketing via Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and more. We will also share any marketing material with you for you to add to your website/social media. Likewise, if you choose to produce marketing information of your own, we’re happy to repost it to our followers.
